The Back and sides of a Guitar do not offer as much
To the sound as the top wood does. However they do
contribute greatly.
Back and side woods made from solid woods are more
expensive than a laminated back and side guitar.
The woods used also make a big difference in price
Rosewood is a very good wood that produces a warm sound
Mahogany is relitively cheap compared to rosewood,
yet it still produces a nice clear sound. Even more
expensive is Koa. It comes from Hawaii and is quite
sought after due to its crisp sound.
